Unable to start Klocwork Servers following Windows installation

If you see one of the following messages after installing the Klocwork Server package on Windows:

  • Error 1920. Service Klocwork 18.1 Server (Klocwork 18.1 Server) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
  • Service Klocwork 18.1 License Server failed to start. See installation log for more details.

An earlier version of the Klocwork Server and/or Klocwork License Server may be running on the port that you specified during installation of Klocwork 2018.1. It is not possible to run two versions of a server on the same port.

You need to set a different port number for the Klocwork Server and/or Klocwork License Server with kwservice set-service-property, and then start the servers.
