Create a remote configuration file

Create a remote configuration file that Klocwork Desktop will use to start the remote agent.

Tip: You can also start the remote agent directly with kwdtagent, rather than with a configuration file.

To use a remote configuration file, you must:

  • be able to execute commands on the remote host. For SSH, you can pass the kwdtagent command to be executed at the end of the command line.
  • use a non-interactive command to start kwdtagent. For SSH, you must use public key authentication in order to access the remote host.

The format of the remote configuration file varies depending on whether the ports on the remote machine are accessible. If they're not accessible, you can use SSH to tunnel connections from a specified local port to the remote port where the agent is running. See Remote configuration file format.

You must edit or create a new remote configuration file if you are:

  • accessing a different .kwlp
  • accessing the same .kwlp, but on a different machine
  • using a different port
