Cannot perform project synchronization - Failed to read the buildspec file - Variable is not defined

When you see the message, " Cannot perform project synchronization: Failed to read the buildspec file '<Klocwork_settings_directory>\buildspec.tpl': Variable '<variable_name>' is not defined, " it means that you need to set your build specification template variable with the path to your source files. You either did not set the variable or you may have mistyped the variable (in kwcheck) when you set it.

The above message displays for Klocwork Desktop, IDE plug-in and kwcheck users when your connected desktop project fails to synchronize with the server project. Synchronization problems are indicated with this icon: Image:sync_problem_icon.png. Mousing over the icon displays the sync error message. You'll know Connected desktop and synchronization is working again when you see the Project is synchronized icon.

For instructions on setting the variable using Klocwork Desktop for C/C++, see Configure build specification variables - Klocwork Desktop.

For kwcheck users, list your set variable(s) with kwcheck list-vars. If the variable name is wrong, remove it with kwcheck remove-var. Configure your variable with kwcheck set-var.
